Similar to Glory Road, Remember the Titans is another movie that shows racial discrimination in a sports team. It was released in 2000 and it was awarded is various awards and nominations. The movie takes place in Virginia, in 1971, when racism was still a huge issue. The main event occurs in a high school football team, which becomes desegregated. In order to unite the football team, the head coach starts a camp a week before the school starts. The team successfully unites despite the racial difference, when the team goes back to school, the world does not allow them to. The team faces many incidents associating with racial discrimination, and become separated. Despite the winning streak, the team does not feel united anymore, therefore, finds a need to get back together as they were during the camp. Somehow, the team truly unites back together and achieve greatness throughout the season.
By using dramatic stories, such as friendship and love, the movie successfully demotes racism. Even though our skin color might be different, in deep inside us, we are all the same. The team, not only change themselves, but also changes people around them as well, and that is what this movie tries to achieve as well. When watching this movie, people can realize that racism is a serious issue, but it can be alleviated. When people acknowledges the little differences between people of different races, things can get a lot better than it is now.

White Teacher Sues Black Kids
Middle School Social Sciences Teacher, Elizabeth Handrac sues her own students for calling her "white cracker" and criticizing her because she was white. She mentioned that the school administrators did not do anything to prevent what was happening to her and her black students and that it would be best for her to just quit and find some other school. She feels that these kids are huge racists, and that she has been subjected numerous times from these kids. Calling her names, swearing at her for being white, etc. As a conclusion, the school have attacked Elizabeth Handrac instead saying that it was the school's culture and that she could do nothing about it. They didn't discipline any of the students that mocked her, they actually stood up for these students against this "white" teacher.

Black Man Calls for Extermination of White People
Kamau Kambon used to be a professor at North Carolina States University, teaching students about his passions in the past. However, today, Kamau Kambon has become a racist that wants all of the "white" people in the world to be exterminated. He thinks that in order for all the issues or war, racism, sexcism, etc. to be gone is to have all of the "white" people exterminated. He feels that they are the ones that are causing the problems and preventing the world from peace and freedom. He also felt that there was a new form of slavery in the United States. He felt that the black people were trapped in the current type of slavery: ecomnomic slavery. He also thought that the white people's plans were to kill all the black people no matter what. The racism that this ex-professor had was so powerful, that he specifically quoted that the only solution was to kill all the "white" people.

Middle-eastern Woman criticized by African-American
Racism is well known for black slaves, critisizm of white people, asian, etc. Mostly, when racism is taught, it is about white and black people. However, there are certain times when other races on picked on by different races. For instance, searching through the internet, I came across a clip of the Tyra Banks Show where a Middle Eastern woman and a African American woman was arguing. Tyra asked the African American woman what her first impressions were for the Middle Eastern woman, and she immediately, without hesitation answered, "she looks like a suicide bomber." I does combine with the stereotypes of Middle Eastern people as being portrayed as terrorists, however, this black woman had a side of dislike towards this Middle Eastern Woman.

Stereotypes Journal
In my personal opinion, I think stereotypes are one of the barriers that keep people from being free and peaceful. The stereotypes against differenent races and cultures bring harm and neglect.
When my peers find out that I am full Chinese, immediately they think of a variety of things. Communism, Jjajiang-myun, poverty, etc. In middle school, people called me the "communist" at times and even though I knew it was just a joke, it still hurt my feelings. At a certain point, I didn't want my Chinese nationality, I wanted to be Korean since most of my friends were Korean.
The stereotypes of the Chinese culture and people are mainly focused on communism. Asking anyone in the world, communism would equal Russia, North Korea, and China. They think of us as people without mercy, murdering, and having a dictator that rules everyone else. There are still a few countries that follow this encounters, but China has evolved. China is still a communist country, but it has changed from the expectations.
Searching through the internet, I often enjoy watching the Tyra Banks Show. I enjoy it because Tyra talks about a variety of different things, including: race issues, sexism, religion, etc. There was an episode where Tyra invited a Middle-eastern woman who grew up in the United States. However, because of the muslim outfit she was wearing, people immediately thought of her as a suicide bomber. And so, there was actually a african-american woman who critisized this Middle-eastern woman that she looked exactly like her suicidal brothers from the Middle east. This was certainly a stereotype because if a person has on a turban or maybe a religious muslim outfit, people will immediately remind themselves of suicide bombers, terrorists. They will keep away from these people as far as possible.
Stereotypes may not only bring harm, but it could also ruin a person's life. Seeing and hearing about stereotypes doesn't mean that they are all true.

Demotion of Racism in Commercial
These days there have been many people fighting against the plague of racism. In fact, even commoners have started making their own anti-racism commercials. Not only does this commercial spread anti-racism through television, but also through the internet. The youtube community has grown dramatically over a short time. As a result, it has been made easier for common voices to express their thoughts.

Effect of News on Racism
News channels and newspaper are supposed to be impartial and unbiased, and for the most part these media are showing responsibility in what they show. However, because the audiences trust these media, it becomes a huge problem when the news start to show biased view, especially on racist issue.
One big example would be the Western news on Middle Eastern region. It is no lie to state that the Western news are the biggest news provider. However, CNN and BBC are sometimes criticized for showing visuals and informations that may be biased for the Middle East countries. As a matter of fact, I believe the reason why we always seem to suspect Islamic people is because of the news that we see everyday. How many times do we see Islamic people burning US flags or shooting guns in the air in the news? Although this visual doesn't represent the majority of the Islamic people, the news make it seem like Middle East countries are wrapped in flame of chaos.
